Our Voluteers Make it all Possible
Even with all the food and money in the world, St. Susan Center could not fulfill its mission without the support of its dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers are seniors, students, business and community leaders, service clubs and homemakers. Many are members of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Some have two hours a month to share, others work several hours, still others come occasionally in groups – whatever suits their interests and schedules.
There are many ways to serve. In addition to cooking and serving meals, there are food donations to be unloaded, dishes to be run through the dish washer, bakery products to distribute, mailings to post, events to plan, and much more. The soup kitchen is always happy to welcome new volunteers, as schedules, availability and interests change. Guided and supported by a dedicated staff, volunteers are the first faces seen by our guests. Their smiles and caring hearts are an essential ingredient in every meal we serve.
