The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) proudly hosts the annual “Cents for St. Susan’s” campaign to support St. Susan Center, a vital soup kitchen in Jamestown, NY. Since its launch in 2000, this initiative has helped provide thousands of meals to those in need, thanks to the generosity of our community.
How It Works:
Bright yellow donation canisters are placed at local businesses, inviting residents to contribute spare change, dollars, and checks. Every penny collected goes directly to St. Susan Center, ensuring continued meal service for those facing food insecurity. Checks can be made payable to St. Susan Center (memo: Cents for St. Susan’s) and mailed to BPU, P.O. Box 700, Jamestown, NY 14701. Donations are also accepted online.
Community Impact:
St. Susan Center serves warm meals six days a week, offering not only nourishment but also fellowship, dignity, and respect to all who enter. In 2024, the campaign raised a record-breaking $32,508, surpassing the previous year’s total—an inspiring testament to the community’s generosity.
A Tradition of Giving:
The BPU remains committed to supporting St. Susan Center and deeply appreciates the involvement of local residents and businesses in this important cause. Together, we can continue making a difference, one cent at a time.
